CURRENTLY THE PLATFORM SELECTED IS BEING RESEARCHED BY THE LAW OFFICES OF JOHN W. ROBERTS TO VERIFY THE LEGAL COMPLIANCE FOR ALLOWING DESTIN CITY COUNCIL TO IMPLEMENT LOCAL HOME PURCHASING PROGRAMS.
More Parking for Destin Residents - All Destin Residents have access to the Destin Resident Parking Pass. However, the parking pass is limited to parking areas along Scenic Highway 98 in Crystal Beach and Gulf Shore Drive in Holiday Isle. The pass locations need to be expanded to allow Destin Residents to enjoy our amenities.
Obviously these are goals, and the legal implications must be reviewed and the goals may need to be adjusted to maintain legal compliance. But I see no reason why we as a community can not insist on policy and programs to assist in these and other types of local benefits.

Destin receives more than 80% of all tourists visiting the Emerald Coast
Our Neighboring Cities
Destin officially became a city in 1984.
Panama City Beach officially became a city in 1909.
Pensacola officially became a city in 1559.
Only 31% of the residents own homes in Destin.
26% of Destin locals are in Long-Term rental programs.
On any given day 80% of Destin's population is Tourists and 20% residents.
Our city has only had 38 years to develop the infrastructure to handle 80% of all tourists visiting the Gulf Coast. Pensacola has had 463 years, PCB 113 years.
Destin is unlike any other city in Florida and should have special state allowances to assist the health, safety, and public welfare.
